Create a funnel
Create a funnel in ConvertSite Analytics to track where visitors drop off: define the steps visitors must complete, then read how many convert at each step and where you lose the rest.
Start a new funnel
Open the "Set up your funnel" modal from either the dashboard header or the funnels empty state.
In Analytics, click Create funnel in the dashboard header.
Or, when you have no funnels yet, use the funnels empty state, which reads "Visualize where users drop off".
Name your funnel and add steps
Give the funnel a name, then build the sequence of events a visitor must complete.
In the Funnel name field, enter a name (the placeholder is shown as "Name your funnel").
Under Funnel steps, click Add step for each step in the sequence.
Configure each event step
Use Edit event step to open a step, where you name it, pick its type, and choose the page, view, or event a visitor must complete. The type decides which selectors appear.
Enter a Name for the step (for example, the placeholder "Clicked submit button").
Choose a Type: Visited page, Visited view, or Event.
Set the Page selector (the placeholder is "Select a page", with a "Filter pages" search field). The remaining field depends on the type:
Visited page shows only the Page selector.
Visited view also shows View, populated with the views on the selected page.
Event also shows ID, populated with the tracked events on the selected page.
When a selector has no matching options, it shows "No pages found", "None found on this page", or "No events tracked on this page yet" depending on the field.
Save the funnel
Click Create funnel to save. You can remove a step as long as the funnel has more than one step.
Cancelling a draft shows a confirmation titled "Stop creating funnel" that explains "Your funnel hasn't been saved yet. Discarding your funnel steps can't be undone." and offers a Discard funnel action, which closes the modal without saving. A saved funnel closes with Close.
Read the funnel stats
Funnel stats count unique visitors who completed every step up to and including that step.
The first step shows Started funnel.
Each later step shows its converted %, calculated against the immediately preceding step.
When the dropped-off share is greater than zero, the step also shows a dropped off %.
The visual bar for a later step is sized relative to the first step, so you can compare each step's reach against where visitors started.
Edit, reorder, or delete a saved funnel
Saved funnels appear as cards in Analytics, each with an overflow menu.
Open a funnel's overflow menu and choose Edit to reopen it in the editor.
Drag any step by its handle to reorder it before or after another step.
Choose Delete to remove the funnel. Confirm in the "Delete funnel" dialog, which warns "Are you sure you want to delete this funnel? This action can't be undone."
