Preview and publish your website
Preview your site in the editor or on a test domain to check it before going live, then publish it once and push every later change with Publish changes. Previewing is free and instant; publishing makes your site available on the web.
Preview your site
Use the Preview button in the editor header to view the current build. It toggles preview mode inside the editor for Site and Embed apps, so you can switch between editing and viewing without leaving your work.
For a preview that behaves like your live site, use Preview on test domain. It opens your site at a test domain and is for testing only — changes you make are reflected automatically, so you don't need to republish to see them.
Button actions that send emails or push data to Zapier or HubSpot can only be tested in Preview. Test those actions in Preview before you publish.
Preview with a PIN
If the site owner requires PIN access, the preview page shows a Preview access screen that asks for the PIN. The publish popover shows the current preview PIN, labeled PIN.
Open the Publish control in the header to see the current PIN.
Enter that PIN on the preview page. Entering the wrong PIN shows Incorrect PIN. Please try again.
Publish your site
The Publish control in the header shows the action your site needs: Publish your site to the web for an unpublished Site, Publish your embed for an unpublished Embed, and Publish changes once the app has gone live.
Click the Publish control in the header.
Confirm to publish. An unpublished site goes live for the first time; a published site pushes your latest changes.
The status copy tells you where your site stands: This version of your site is live means your published version is current, and Your site has unpublished changes means you've edited since the last publish and need to publish again.
The Publish button is disabled when the app is already up to date, or on initial publish for workspaces that are cancelled or not approved for publishing.
Publish errors
Publishing can fail for two reasons, both shown as an error message:
Cannot publish without the editor lock — another editor holds the lock on the app. Wait for them to release it, then try again.
Cannot publish because a recent save failed. Please try again. — your last save didn't go through. Try publishing again.
